DMarket charges 0% to buy and 2% to sell a CS2 skin, with a catch: the terms allow up to 10% on cheap or rarely traded items and never say where "cheap" starts. The second catch is bigger. Money you add to your balance cannot be taken out again, only sales proceeds can.
This dossier answers the questions a seller asks in order: what the account needs, what a sale costs, how money gets in and out, where the site's own pages disagree, and who is behind it. Checks were made on dmarket.com on 29 Sep 2026, with a short sign-up look on 1 Oct 2026. We made no deposits, sales or withdrawals.

What does a sale cost, and who pays 10%?
The FAQ table gives CS2 buying at 0% across market types, selling at 2%, a trade-style exchange at 2.5% and the F2F marketplace at 4%. Dota 2, TF2 and Rust sell at 5%. A part of CS2 items on an updated list drops to 1%.
The 2% is for liquid skins. Cheap and low-liquidity ones can reach 10%, and we found neither a price threshold nor a way to see the rate for a specific skin before you list it. If you sell budget skins in bulk, assume the high end and read the amount you will receive on the confirmation screen.
Downside: an unfinished trade is charged too. A buyer who does not accept the offer within 12 hours pays a 2% penalty with a $0.01 floor, and a seller who fails to deliver gets a 3-day listing ban. Fees already paid are not returned, so do not list items you cannot send today.
What does the account show on opening?
Sign-up offers Steam, email, Twitter/X, Twitch, Life Beyond and MetaMask, and two-factor login is available. The email route asks you to accept the terms and shows a tick box for newsletters, which is separate and optional. The games on the market are CS2, Dota 2, TF2 and Rust.
Trading needs Steam Guard, no trade restrictions on the account, a public inventory and a trade URL, which is the link the site uses to send you items. Spending at least $5 on Steam is advisable to clear the Limited status.
Our sign-up through the referral link on 1 Oct 2026 produced no bonus and no fee discount. More on that under the promo question below.
What does a top-up involve?
The minimum deposit is $1 and DMarket takes no fee of its own. Visa and Mastercard need a one-time identity check, and a deposit normally lands in minutes but can take up to 48 hours. We found no stated maximum: the terms mention daily and monthly limits without amounts.

Provider fees sit on top. In the panel we saw, they ran from 0% to 2% plus $3.30, with flat fees of $25.36 and $32.97 on some routes, and per-transaction limits from $1,000 to $10,000. A flat $25.36 against a $100 deposit is about 25%, so read the final line before paying.
The screenshot above also shows crypto tiles, so crypto deposits are offered. We could not match every method name to its fee, so treat the panel as a sample of one session and check the coin you want before you pay.
Downside: provider fees vary by route and are not shown until you open the panel. If you plan a small top-up, pick the route with the lowest flat component, or a 0% route if your account offers one.
When can the money leave the site?
Only sales proceeds can leave. Section 6.1 of the terms says USD deposited to the account cannot be withdrawn. A funded balance is therefore a shopping budget, and you should load it with what you are ready to spend on skins.
| Route | Minimum | Time on the withdrawal page |
|---|---|---|
| Payoneer, Skrill, PayPal | $5 | up to 48 hours |
| Card, Wire, SEPA | $5 | up to 7 business days |
We found no withdrawal fee in the sources: it depends on the provider and is not disclosed. No maximum is stated and the page shows no crypto withdrawal. Withdrawal also needs identity documents: a passport or national ID, plus proof of address, and about 24 hours to clear.
Downside: the document check is mandatory before the first payout. If you need cash the same day you sell, upload the documents first and let them clear.
Where do the site's own pages disagree?
Two places. On fees, section 4.1 of the terms talks about a charge of up to 10% on each purchase and sale, while the FAQ says 0% to buy. The FAQ rates fit under that ceiling, so we read 10% as the limit, not the norm.
On time, the withdrawal page says up to 48 hours for e-wallets, while section 6.2 allows up to 8 business days, and up to 9 above $99.99. We treat the terms as the ceiling. For a large sum, count on nearly two calendar weeks.
The hold rule
DMarket rejects trades with a 15-day hold, so a skin you just received by exchange may not go through. We could not tell whether the rejection applies on sale, on purchase or both, and we did not find where 15 days comes from, though other sites we checked mention Steam's 7 days. Check the hold on a fresh skin before listing it.

Who runs it, and what do reviewers say?
Per the terms, three entities operate under the name: two in Delaware and Mythical Games, Unipessoal, Lda in Lisbon. The parent bought DMarket in 2023, and the terms (18 Dec 2023 edition) are under Delaware law, so a dispute would be heard in Delaware courts.
It is a goods marketplace, so a gambling licence does not apply. We found no public hacks, leaks or lawsuits. In 2022 the site closed access to Russia and Belarus, per its FAQ and terms.

Trustpilot shows 4.0 across 22,046 reviews: 71.3% five-star and 15.3% one-star, from a claimed profile that replied to 468 of 480 negative reviews. We read the 20 latest English reviews from 25 to 29 Sep 2026: 12 five-star (60%), 7 one-star (35%) and 1 three-star. Praise went to prices (four), speed (three) and ease (three). Complaints named scam suspicion (two), support (two) and deposits (two).
We did not verify the reviews, and the sample is small. It shows mood, and no rule or fee on this page comes from it.
Is there a promo code?
No, we found no public DMarket code of any type, only giveaways on the promo page. Our link is a referral link: the partner programme pays us 20% of DMarket's revenue on fee-bearing operations by users we bring, per the site's FAQ, with Storefront purchases and reduced-fee items excluded. Per the partner note, the 20% applies to the commission on purchases, not to deposits. It is a payment to us, not a benefit for you; a hand-typed code gave nothing.
Downside: no fee cut, no first-trade bonus and no code means 1.0 of 5 on this criterion. Ignore sites that sell a "working DMarket code", because none held up when we looked.

Before your first deposit
DMarket requires you to be 18 or older (section 2.4 of the terms), and local law may set a higher age. Russia and Belarus are closed, and residents of countries on US, EU, UN or Swiss sanctions lists can be shut out. Skin trading carries a risk of loss and no income is promised. Our referral link earns us a commission.

Score: 3.1 of 5: strong fees, weak cash-out
Fees lead at 4.5: 0% to buy, 2% to sell CS2 and 5% elsewhere, minus half a point for a 10% ceiling with no threshold. Trust follows at 4.0: three disclosed entities and Trustpilot 4.0, held back by a 15.3% one-star share and payout-delay complaints.
Payouts score 3.0 because of 8 to 9 business days in the terms, mandatory KYC, an undisclosed fee and the locked deposit rule. Promo is 1.0 since a new user gets nothing.
FAQ
Is DMarket legit?
From what we checked, yes: three disclosed entities, Trustpilot 4.0 across 22,046 reviews and no public incidents. The risk is in the rules, not fraud. We made no test trades, so complaints may exist elsewhere.
Can I withdraw money I deposited?
No. Only sales proceeds can be withdrawn, per section 6.1.
How long does a payout take?
Up to 48 hours for e-wallets per the withdrawal page, up to 9 business days per the terms.
Is there a DMarket promo code?
We found none. Only a referral link exists, and it gives a new user no bonus.
